Japanese Environmental Law

Although we are not regularly aware of it, there are a number of environmental problems in our surroundings. Even just living ordinary people is burdening the environment. What can we do to solve these familiar environmental problems and global environmental problems? One method for that is the environmental law. However, environmental problems are complicated and internationalized, so environmental problems alone can not solve the problem. How will corporate activities, executive administration, citizen participation, expert involvement, activities of these affiliated entities and various policy methods be combined to solve the problem, and how does the law go I will think about how it plays a role.

Environmental policy involves various stakeholders in various situations, and at the same time, it has characteristics that are greatly different from region to region, and it is more important that policy personnel have diverse perspectives and sense of balance . In order to cultivate personnel capable of active internationally, in addition to the basic knowledge on law and policy method, in addition to knowing the facts, feeling that it is actually problematic, not only in Japan but aggressively It is necessary to acquire experience and knowledge of foreign countries. To that end, in seminars, we listen to the story of the local administration, companies and NGOs, understand the values of the various stakeholders as much as possible through seeing factories and pollution sites, and also have a perspective not to stay beyond Japan I will instruct them to do.

Exercise A/B/C/D

At the seminar, we aim to have legal analysis over the environmental law in general, and to have specific awareness of what we can do to solve environmental problems. Environmental problems are problems that need to be considered internationally on a global scale, and at the same time are concerned with every part of our lives. Environmental issues are an interesting field of thinking about how to control by law, considering application of the law and its limit while solving solutions. In the seminar, the person in charge selects the theme of interest, makes a presentation, and makes a question-and-answer to it. Furthermore, we plan to actively incorporate experiences at the site, such as on-site surveys, interviews with companies and administration. In order to discuss with all of the seminar students, it is necessary for every one to prepare firmly. Based on the fact that the specified books and judgments are exactly read and analyzed, we intend to develop discussion by adding on-site demonstration etc.
