Conducted environmental education activities at Mt. Minobu in Yamanashi Prefecture

We conducted an environmental education program at Mt. Minobu in Yamanashi Prefecture from November 1 through November 3, 2019. Twenty-five graduate students from the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Professor Yamagata from the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES), and Professor Suzuki joined the trip.

The students walked through Minobu town, discussed, and addressed their ideas about a possible application of a Japanese version of smart city and the revitalization of the local community.

We also organized a joint workshop with students from the Department of International Studies at Tokai University.

Another highlight of the trip was a visit to a biomass energy plant in Doshi Village as well as a visit to Kakitagawa River Park in Shizuoka Prefecture where one can visually observe spring water from Mt. Fuji.
